Chemo-photodynamic theranostic based on a small organic molecule

Unlike traditional binary nanostructures that construct chemotherapy drugs and photodynamic therapy photosensitizers, we have developed small organic molecules (bifunctional therapy theranostic agent) possessing the chemo-photodynamic therapy (CPT) function as well as revealing photoinduced nuclear transport (PNT) phenomena. The photo-induced nuclear transport of this chemo-phototherapy molecule, EO, can be a dual anticancer theranostic drug candidate with dark toxicity as well as photo-toxicity. Moreover, EO ca be used as fluorescence-guided therapy with the intracellular fluorescence colors switching between molecule treatment time period.
