Endoscopic procedures are minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic tools with
favorable clinical outcomes. However, bleeding is a common complication. The
accumulation of blood in the surgical field can create a blood vision barrier (BVB)
that obstructs the physician’s view through the endoscopic camera. This study
addresses the critical BVB problem by em-ploying an external endoscopic imaging
system with a multispectral imaging module. This study also implemented a BVB
simulation, and the results demonstrated that this technology could effectively
overcome the BVB, and that it provided clear images of anatomical structures,
enabling better diagnosis and treatment. This new technique can improve the
outcomes of endoscopic procedures and may have far-reaching implications in the
endoscopy field.
