Dr. Hai Mi, cofounder and CEO of Maestro Surgical, was a partner at the prestigious VC firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) before he co-founded Panacea Venture, a life science focused venture capital firm with team members and portfolio companies in US, Europe, Mainland China, and Taiwan. Prior to joining KPCB China, Dr. Mi was a partner at PE firm DT Capital responsible for investment in life science and healthcare, and a venture partner of SB China Venture Capital (SBCVC). Dr. Mi was Senior Director of Strategic Planning and then Vice President at WuXi AppTec in Shanghai, he also served on the board of Chemspec International (NYSE: CPC) as an independent board director and the Chairman of audit committee. Earlier Dr. Mi was a research scientist at Parke-Davis Pharmaceuticals and then a senior manager at Pfizer in US. Dr. Mi obtained his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from New York University, MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a B.S. in material science from Fudan University in Shanghai.
